Nests for Less

June 18th. What does that mean to you? The 169th day of the Year? The 123rd anniversary of Waterloo? For many New Yorkers, it’s a big day, one they've been looking forward to for a long long time. It's the Ikea grand opening in Red Hook Brooklyn. For too long, New Yorker's have had to trek out of their cherished 5 boroughs for stylish yet inexpensive home goods to feather their nests. But no more!

Some of Tweety's favorite offering from this Swedish shore are this side table (above) and this right hand chaise (below). These yellow pieces really help brighten even the gloomiest of corners.

While the excitement may seem a bit silly, it's really very important. As Tweety knows, how one lives affects their state of mind. Having a stylish abode aids in creativity, generosity, and a sense of well-being. As a supporter of all things swanky, snazzy, and smart, Tweety is a big fan of Ikea.

Weekend Sendoff: Yellow Fashion

We interrupt our regular scheduled programming to bring you this news breaking update: A full page dedicated to Tweety inspired yellow fashion-must-haves. Ok, so it is not such a deviation from our normal course, since we did bring you – dear readers – a much belated cocktail sendoff on Wednesday. So, while we won’t send you off with a nice drink to enjoy over the weekend, we are sending you off with a shopping list full of all the yellow fashion you need to conquer the yellow trend that is all the rage this spring. With the nice weather making a more permanent appearance these days (although today our tails are a little chilly) we recommend putting down your cocktail, and heading out into the city on a much desired shopping safari. I am sure you will notice that there is no jewelry on this page of Allure’s yellow “fashion cravings.” This is obviously because everyone knows the only choice to enhance yellow fashions are earrings, bracelets, rings, and necklaces from the Tweety Fine Jewelry Collection!

We return back to your regular scheduled programming next week. Have a great weekend!

Yellow down to our fingertips...

I walked into my local manicure parlor, in our beloved NYC, and I encountered a somewhat odd experience.  I told the manicurist I wanted a French manicure.  I have been wearing my Tweety Daisy pendant (Tweety Fine Jewelry) in light of the pleasant spring weather that is upon us, and I thought it would look best with a classic French. The manicurist, thinking she was a stylist, said that the next big trend for nails will be a yellow French manicure.  I gave her an odd look, so she explained: put a base of canary yellow (tweety-esque) with white tips.  She swears it will be the next big thing.  I had to talk to my fashion conscious, so when I got back to Tweety HQ, I told our trusty little birdie the story.  Tweety said that it is worth trying out the trend.  Tweety has always been very successful wearing bright yellow, plus it is the buzz worthy trend, and I can still wear my daisy pendant!  Tweety and I, recommend trying out this trend, and being the first of your friends to set the bar, because if you make it work, they will surely follow.  After all, birds of a feather do tend to flock together!

You're in my Light

Tweety, like any celebrity, feels a certain entitlement to the center spotlight. Let’s face it, Tweety is to yellow fashion what Elizabeth Taylor is to diamonds or Jackie O to tailored suits. Recently, the rest of the world caught on to the yellow trend that out fashion icon, Tweety, inspired. We here at Tweety HQ take pleasure in seeing the yellow fashion trend, which Tweety has been flaunting since the forties, become so prominent in today’s en vogue world. Ok, so we get it – imitation is the best form of flattery. And the flattery has been rolling into our web-mailbox on overload. Last week we passed along a notice form Club Monaco, and this week we bring you another yellow update from Nine West. Even the blogosphere is hitting the keyboards nonstop reporting on the expulsion of the spring trend. Case in point: Lesley Scott of FashionTribes.com, who gave this excellent report on Yellow fashion.

Have you heard? The bird's the word. Which bird? Tweety. Take a cue, and spread cheer in your yellow fashion, just like Tweety.

They Call Me Mellow Yellow

On a day when we should be seeing splashes of green all over NYC, it seems we are stilling heading for a Spring filled with shades of yellow. Or yellow shades I should say, like the ones seen on the runway of Karl Lagerfeld’s Spring 2008 collection. Tweety has always believed in the happier world of everything yellow, and even though Lagerfeld is a fashion god (Lagerfeld is the head of the Chanel Design House) let us not forget who started the yellow fashion craze. Our only hope is that when you put on a pair of yellow sunglasses that you can still make out Tweety’s lovely figure, because we would hate for our little yellow birdie to camouflage into the background of your yellow-tinted view.

Fly Away Little Biride♠

Tweety has always been a fan of polyester.  Let’s face it, our little birdie has been reproduced in the stuffed-animal form out of polyester more times then we can even imagine.  So, Tweety was ecstatic to see this picture next to an article entitled Synthetically Speaking, in this month W’s magazine.  The dress, which is part of Lavin’s spring 2008 collection, is made of polyester that the designer said was perfect to create clothing that could “fly away.” We here at Tweety HQ can’t help but hold back the joy of seeing another designer use the Tweety yellow hue that we all know and love to create amazing designs that ring a note of our flying little birdie.

Canary Bags are Big Trend Among Top Designers

The fashion obsessed have put a large emphasis on hand bags in recent years, and so it was no shocker that when it came time to point out the “it” bags of the moment, Who What Wear Daily – a fashion blog with a keen pulse on what’s hot – featured a Dior by John Galliano yellow bag set to hit stores soon. “If you’re craving a canary-colored handbag, you’re in luck this season,” the article nicely stated. Well, we here at Tweety HQ are always psyched about Tweety inspired yellow fashion - a little canary to go with our canary.

Other splashes of bags a’ la Tweety are a great hobo satchel by designer Andrew Marc and a bright canary patent clutch by Michael Kors. These yellow totes are being chirped about all over town, and once again we are thrilled that Tweety has helped inspire great trends in fashion. We recommend pairing one of these yellow accessories with a ring or pendant from the Tweety Fine Jewelry collection. The little glimpses of yellow rhinestones and gold in the jewelry help complete the yellow look without looking too matchy-matchy. Heed our advice! After all, you have never seen Tweety end up on Page Six as a fashion no-no.

Tweety Hits The Beach

Tweety has always been a social butterfly – well more like a social birdie. The most recent buzz generating hobnobbing Tweety did was all of the feather rubbing done backstage at the Z100 Jingle Ball in December. Punk-princess Avril Lavigne was so excited to scoop up a Tweety Fine Jewelry pendent during the pre-show festivities that she immediately put it on to complete her stage-perfect look. Months later, these two blondes are still sticking together. Avril was seen tooling the beach scene of Miami wearing the two essentials of hot beach attire: a little bitty bikini and a necklace that shines brighter then the sun. The Tweety necklace added a spirit of fun to her already playful day at the beach, and the diamonds and gemstones set a good example for fashion chicks everywhere, demonstrating that even at the beach one’s fabulous appearance should not fall by the wayside.

Avril has built a reputation as the original punk “it” girl, inspiring girls everywhere to add a sense of beauty into a genre of music that is otherwise pretty grim. Tweety Fine Jewelry is a smart choice because it allows Avril to wear an exquisite accessory while still keeping her look young, fresh, and fun!

Trend Setters Chose Yellow as Winter Color

While Tweety can be seen sporting yellow feathers throughout the whole year, the general rule of fashionistas is to save the happy color of yellow for the warmer days of spring and summer. Recently however, taste-makers have been taking a bright cue from Tweety by trading in staid black winter gowns of yesteryear for brighter, more sun-inspired creations. Case in point: Blake Lively, playing Serena on Gossip Girls, was seen “tulle-ing” around town in a canary yellow Michael Kors dress. From W magazine, the elite source of fashion reporting, to Fab Sugar, a respected fashion trend reporter in the blogosphere, Livley’s bright, Tweety-like dress has generated enough chirping and buzz to officially call yellow the new “fill in dark winter color of choice here.” This is just further proof that Tweety, who predicted the wearing-yellow-in-winter trend way before everyone else, really is a hot chick.

Spring is here (almost)

As you've probably noticed, it's been very cold out recently, but that doesn't mean that your taste in fashion has to freeze.  Like a little dandelion swaying in the winter breeze, Tweety yellow remains strongly in the minds of America's top designers.

Toriburch

At the head of the flock is Tory Burch, available at Bloomingdales, whose clutch and famous "Reva" ballet slippers both come in dazzling shades of our favorite color.  Tory's beautiful shift dress is another way to show the world that you're already focused on the warmth of the coming spring.

Katespade

Another designer who caught wind of the changing seasons, and is jumping on the bandwagon is Kate Spade who has come out with a series of the cutest jelly flip flops we've seen in a long time.  Of course, this line features a yellow version to blend in perfectly with your Tweety accessories.  We feel warm inside just thinking about it! We recommend paring these slip-ons with this Tweety Fine Jewelry yellow ring, to ease your way into spring with theses splashes of our favorite hue.
