Tweety Reminds Us of Spring to Come

We here at Tweety HQ receive lots of fashion newsletters and magazines, so you can imagine that by now we have figured out which ones have the inside scoop on the next big trends.   One of our favorites is WhoWhatWear Daily, who seems to have taken a cue from Tweety.  Today, the newsletter on WWWD tips, recommended adding a splash of a primary color to the dark shades of our winter wardrobes.  Which primary color did they feature?  You guessed it.  The same yellow hue that Tweety is always seen sporting around town.   So brighten up your threads with a hint of yellow, the way Tweety brightens up our spirit, and remember that even as we drag through this very cold week of winter, spring is looming on the horizon.

“Segue into spring with bright pops of color Ah, the transitional months! It’s still quite chilly outside, but spring product is popping up in stores and it feels boring to wear your winter duds exclusively. One way to combat these sartorial seasonal blues is to start adding pops of color (a serious spring trend) into your outfits, like Rachel Bilson did on a recent grocery store expedition. Since the F/W 07 season was heavily comprised of black and gray, you can easily update the pieces you already have by adding a bright accessory, like a vividly hued scarf or a purse in a primary color.” - WWWD

Yellow Fever

While we like to think that Tweety is the center of our universe, we took a look at the impact Tweety’s yellow feathers have had in the Google world. By searching “Yellow,” the color that evokes the image of Tweety’s outerwear, we found the top Google search results reporting on the lovely yellow hue.

1) Before the era of internet, the Yellow Pages were the go to source for finding businesses and their contact info in cities big and small. The print directory has grown up, and moved online, but is still so widely popular that it is the first search result for “Yellow.” 2) Coming in a close second is an entire wikepedia page dedicated to the color Yellow. We always knew Tweety loved the sunny hue, but it is great to know the rest of the world is in agreement with our little yellow birdie. 3)Yellow by coldplay. The music video for this rock hit was instantly a fan favorite, making it’s you tube version the number three contender on the Google yellow search.
